Commander Keen 1, 2 & 3 don't hold up well in terms of gameplay, controlling Keen's movement is clunky. Despite being nostalgic for the trilogy and having a soft spot for the third game, these are not recommendable. Keen 4 & 5 however are still fun platformers and the controls are smooth and responsive with Keen 4 arguably the best game of the pack due to the better overall level design.. First I have to address one thing: this is NOT a "complete pack", because it does not contain Episode 6: Aliens Ate My Babysitter! (it was not published by Apogee, so you cannot buy it digitally anywhere). This pack is a mixed bag, because it contain the best and the worst parts, that '90s PC platforming games can offer.Episode 1 is a simple, short platformer, where you have to find four parts of your spaceship. Episode 2 is a bit longer and harder, but not bad either. Here you have to prevent the Vorticon mothership to destroy mayor cities by disabling it's cannons. But Episode 3 can seriously burn in the fiery depths of hell. It has seizure-inducing colors, annoying, unpredictable enemies, unavoidable hazards and downright sadistic level design. And of course you can only save between levels, so one minor mistake, and you start from the beginning.\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665this game.And now for the best part: Episode 4 and 5. They are one of my all-time favourite platformers that very fun to play. The differences are night and day compared to the first three: much better graphics, great music, fluent controls, challenging (but not frustrating) gameplay. And the wild Dopefish appears!Overall, this pack is worth getting for Episode 4 and 5 alone, the rest is easily skippable.
